On 23 January 2023, the 12th Regionalforum Saar, the specialist forum for materials science and technology in Saarland, organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM) and the Saarland University, instead.
Under this year’s motto ‘Material innovations for the energy transition’, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Paul Motzki from ZeMA was invited to speak alongside Patricia Lamouche from Hager Group.
In addition to the lectures, a poster session was held during which students and doctoral candidates presented their current research topics. The prize was awarded to the poster entitled ‘The way to efficient and sustainable heating and cooling: Thermo-Mechano-Caloric Characterization of Elastocaloric Materials’ by Franziska Louia, Group Leader Elastocalorik at Chair of Intelligent Material Systems Saarland University, which is based at ZeMA. Oliver Maurer from the Chair of Manufacturing Engineering and actively involved in technology development in DEPART!Saar also won one of the poster awards with his poster “TripleAM – Acoustically Assisted Additive Manufacturing”.
In addition, visitors were able to find out about current research topics and projects at the exhibition stands, such as DEPART!Saar, a joint transfer project of the Saarland University, the Saarland University of Technology and Economics, ZeMA and the Montan Foundation Saar on the topic of elastocalorics.
