FGAkt - Development of novel shape memory actuators for use in injection moulding tools
In the BMBF-funded project, potential actuator applications in injection molding systems are identified in cooperation with several partners through the use of which they can be designed more efficiently and in order to exploit previously untapped technological potentials. To this end, the corresponding actuators will be made ‘smarter’ and more energy-efficient in order to be prepared for future production environments (Industry 4.0).
As a solution for the realization of an identified actuator, shape memory alloys (FGL) should serve as a basis. These are characterized by their high energy density and the resulting compact design. In addition, additional sensors, e.g. for condition monitoring, can be dispensed with when using FGL.
