On 13 and 14 November 2023, the Manufacturing Technologies Research Unit, headed by Prof. Dirk Bähre, hosted the 19th International Symposium on Electrochemical Machining Technology (INSECT) at ZeMA for the first time.
After the previous event, experts from all over the world met in Tokyo, including from the USA, France, England, Netherlands, Taiwan, Slovenia, India and Germany to share and discuss their current research and development results in the field of electrochemical precision machining. Over the two days of the conference, a total of 15 specialist lectures were held, welcomed by Mr. Andreas Noss and initiated by Prof. Dirk Bähre. Together with the Chair of Manufacturing Technology at Saarland University, ZeMA was represented with two successful lectures and underlined its positioning in the professional community. Furthermore, an overarching and practical presentation of individual research areas of the ZeMA took place after the conference in order to discuss and point out further connecting points between industry and research.
Overall, ZeMA is proud to have facilitated and carried out this consistently successful and scientifically high-quality event.
