"Future of further training in Saarland"
under this title, the Continuing Education Association (WBV) Saarland invites you to get to know and discuss

on Thursday, 10 March, from 15.30 to 18.30

online.

 

 

The training network Saarland started in the summer of 2021 and has the goal, together with its Network partners (Educational institutions, companies, associations and chambers) to advance the subject of continuing education in Saarland and to establish a genuine culture of continuing education.  The WBV is located at the Saarland Chamber of Labour.

 

What is it about?

Of course, we want to make our WBV, our tasks and goals, more known with the kick-off event. But only on the fringes ⁇

Above all, it is about discussing the burning questions around transformation and further education, which are anchored regionally with us in the Saarland.

After a greeting from Florian Köhler, speaker of the BMAS, who will briefly outline the federal program and the national training strategy,

guiding

  • Dr. Jana Wienberg [University of Labour; Head of course "Education-Work-Organization" (vocational pedagogy, B.A.)] and
  • Barbara Hemkes (Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training - Field of work: Innovative training, permeability, model tests)

 

with their experience in continuing education.

They focus on these questions:

  • How can people be sensitized to the topic of continuing education and at the same time barriers can be removed?
  • How can small and medium-sized enterprises in particular be supported in their training projects and in what respect has the pandemic influenced adult learning?

 

This will be followed by a virtual panel discussion on the future of continuing vocational training in Saarland.

In addition to the two speakers mentioned above, the following Saarlanders will also be discussing:

  • Jürgen Barke (State Secretary, MWAEV)
  • Heidrun Schulz (Chairman of the Management Board of the Regional Directorate Rhineland-Palatinate-Saarland / BA)
  • Peter Nagel (Managing Director of the Profession and Education Division of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
  • Timo Ahr (Head of Transformation Workshop Saar, Trade Union Secretary of IG Metall)

Background information: The topic of continuing vocational training, always relevant, has become even more important in recent years. One of the main reasons for this development is the transformation of the economy with the aspects of demographic change, decarbonisation and digitalisation. Job profiles are changing and additional skills, skills and competences are needed in a wide variety of fields of work. Both companies and private individuals want guidance and support in the selection and financing of the appropriate further training measures.

In order to respond to these changes, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has launched the Federal Programme "Building Upskilling Associations" as part of the National Training Strategy. There are currently 40 continuing education associations developing throughout Germany.
