Interreg Visiting Tour at ZeMA<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\t

On 26 August 2020, ZeMA hosted a thirty-member group of visitors as part of an Interreg visit tour to explore its two current Interreg projects.\u00a0Robotix Academy<\/a>\u00a0(INTERREG V A Greater Region) and\u00a0COTEMACO<\/a>\u00a0Competitiveness Through Efficient Man & Machine Collaboration (INTERREG V B North-West Europe).<\/p>\n

The tour was organised by Europe Direct Saarbr\u00fccken, an information centre of the state capital, which informs citizens on EU issues on behalf of the European Commission. Europe Direct Saarbr\u00fccken answers questions about Europe and organises information events on European issues.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

On site, the visitors were divided into groups in accordance with the current Corona hygiene rules and alternately received a short introduction to the two Interreg projects Robotix Academy and COTEMACO as well as a technology tour through the demonstrator landscape at ZeMA.<\/p>\n

Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Speicher, research associate and group leader robotics and human-technology interaction, explained the objectives of the two Interreg projects to the visitors: While the Robotix Academy aims to establish a permanent research cluster for industrial robotics in the Greater Region, the COTEMACO project focuses on technology transfer in the manufacturing sector in the North-West Europe region.<\/p>\n

Ali Kanso (M.Sc.), project manager Robotix Academy, and his colleague Attique Baschir (M.Sc.) guided the visitors through the demonstrator landscape at ZeMA and presented the current human-robot-capable systems and assembly processes. The visitors were very interested in the new technologies and their applications in modern manufacturing processes.<\/p>\n

After the visit to ZeMA, other Interreg projects were on the programme, such as the \u2018Kreavert\u2019 project in Saarbr\u00fccken and the \u2018GReENEFF\u2019 project in Saarlouis, which deal with landscape planning and energy efficiency. On their day tour, visitors were able to visit one research, one environmental and one energy project each, after the morning was all about culture and education (projects Bi-Bus - Cross-border book bus and \"Digitale Steine - ArtWalk in Saarbr\u00fccken).<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
