The networking of innovative small businesses, start-ups and established companies must also be promoted in order to create a beneficial symbiosis between technology providers and users. Public institutions also need to adapt and invest more in digitised processes.

1. Test before Invest: Focus on technology use in companies. Through awareness-raising and digitalisation projects, SMEs are enabled to identify potentials and select the right technologies and solutions and integrate them into the company.
2. Skills and Training: Focus expertise of employees. There is a range of comprehensive training courses on various aspects of digitalisation and artificial intelligence that companies can use to train their employees.
3. Support to find investment: Focus on financing digitalisation measures. Supporting companies that are looking for the right support and financing for digitalisation measures. Companies are advised in consultation hours or in individual accompaniment (e.g. Application counselling) is supported.
4. Innovation ecosystem: Focus on the network. Establish networks in the region to bring together start-ups, SMEs, large companies and public administrations and stimulate the creation of new collaborations and innovations.
The consortium of the EDIH Saarland consists of the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute for Digital Products and Processes gGmbH (AWSi), the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence GmbH (DFKI), East Side Fab e.V. (ESF), saarland.innovation& Standort GmbH (saaris) and the Center for Mechatronics and Automation Technology gGmbH (ZeMA), which also provides the consortium management.
