RICAIP
Research and Innovation Centre for Advanced Industrial Production
problem
Industry 4.0, the use of artificial intelligence in production and digitization in general have not yet reached the industrial sectors across the board. There are not only differences between small, medium and large companies, but also from region to region. In order to strengthen industrial companies at European level, research cooperation is needed, which at the same time focuses on the transfer of results and innovations with industry. The RICAIP project, which is funded by the EU Teaming Programme, strengthens scientific cooperation between Germany and the Czech Republic. Core partners are CIIRC CTU (Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at Czech Technical University), CEITEC BUT (Central European Institute of Technology at Brno University of Technology), DFKI (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence) and ZeMA.
objective
In the long term, the two-country cooperation will result in a European research base spread across different locations. These include Prague, Brno and Saarbrücken. Through joint research in the areas of Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, robot technologies and digitization, new technologies and innovations are to be created together with industry. In addition to joint research, RICAIP also focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through events, workshops and scientific advice. Away from industry, RICAIP networks at European level with other research partners, European activities and existing networks in order to bundle as many synergies as possible and create a recognised European research base. This should contribute significantly to the European research landscape and create a transnational infrastructure for research and development through distributed locations.
approach
RICAIP is in the first phase of the project, which focuses on the development of the centre. The focus is on the creation of management and organisational structures as well as the establishment of research structures and groups. In addition, RICAIP also offers initial events and industrial events to transfer existing results and strengthen the industrial network. In addition, initial research projects are underway with various research and industry partners.
