readi - Increased resilience in manufacturing SMEs through agile, human-centric digital systems and system design
problem
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are facing ever-changing economic, social, technical and political challenges that require continuous adaptation of their business models, services, value chains and customer relationships. In particular, the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies poses major challenges for these companies. The Readi project addresses the need to strengthen the adaptability and resilience of these companies in order to be able to respond proactively not only to current but also to future challenges. The central challenge lies in the development and implementation of agile, human-centric digital systems that support an integrative and efficient corporate transformation.
objective
The overarching goal of the Readi research project is to strengthen the adaptability of SMEs by developing and applying a holistic transformation model. This model is intended to help companies identify and implement the necessary structural, procedural and technological prerequisites for sustainable and agile business transformation. The focus is on creating an agile interaction between people, company organization and technology, which is complemented by a modular catalogue of measures and practical recommendations for action. The aim is for SMEs to improve their resilience to disruptive change while increasing their competitiveness.
approach
The Readi project starts with a comprehensive actual analysis at the application partners (Leffer, Adient, Ellenberger) in order to define current states and future target states. At the same time, a conversion model based on identified conversion drivers and barriers will be designed. This model is intended to enable companies to assess and improve their ability to change. After the actual analysis, specific measures for company conversion are developed and implemented for the application partners. These measures are continuously validated and optimized by user feedback. At the same time, an online platform is being developed and iteratively improved, which makes the transformation model and the recommendations for action also accessible to other companies.
