Robotix Academy

The Robotix Academy project aims to establish a permanent research cluster for industrial robotics in the Greater Region.

problem

As part of the INTERREG V Greater Region 2014-2020 programme, ZeMA was able to successfully submit a project in the field of industrial robotics and human-robot cooperation.
Human-robot cooperation is one of the key technologies to ensure the competitiveness of the Greater Region in the future.
Since the start of the project on 01.01.2016, various development environments have already been set up as well as events prepared and carried out in a small circle with the first interested parties.

objective

The Robotix Academy project aims to establish a permanent research cluster for industrial robotics in the Greater Region over the next five years.
The Academy serves as a cooperation platform for the participating universities and research institutions, transfer partners, user and equipment companies.
In addition to the participating project partners, the universities of Liège, Luxembourg and Lorraine as well as the environmental campus Birkenfeld of Trier University of Applied Sciences, ZeMA is in charge here.

approach

An essential task of the Academy is to build up know-how and make it available for industrial practice. SMEs in particular are supported in the introduction of new technologies, but large companies also benefit from the non-university education, qualification and consulting services.
As part of the Robotix Academy, the universities of the Greater Region work together on the topic of industrial robotics, with each partner taking on a thematic focus.
The focus of ZeMA is on industrial robotics and human robot cooperation in automotive and aircraft production as well as their supplier industry. But small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from industry and crafts will also find a competent and reliable partner here at ZeMA.

Results / Project status

State-of-the-art equipment for practical demonstrations and experiments is shared by the students of the Greater Region and research results are exploited nationally by the companies.
Numerous cross-border cooperation projects will initiate the Robotix Academy over the next five years, thus strengthening the innovation capacity and competitiveness of the Greater Region, in line with the INTERREG programme.
